Turbo Nightmare...
Well I had my car turbocharged finally, but man what a mess..lol
Everything electrical it seems has gone bye bye. I drove it from the shop to the house after it was installed, everything seemed to be working fine. Well now my battery drains over night, something having to do with an interrior light which no one can find because nothings lighting up.
I took it to get tuned and well now the fans arent even working and the car wont even stay crunk. Theyre working on trying to get it going and seeing whats wrong with it but man..horrible experience so far. The shop called it a "electrical nightmare" and these guys are great at what they do.
Any input, guesses, idea's of whats going on here would be nice. Esmeril kit with Int-X...if it matters. I think the car just hates me..lol

Wiring problems are usually someone going too fast and not doing something properly
Why would you have a light problem from an engine compartment install...more likely to be a wiring problem from the install than a new random interior problem
Pull the fuse for the interior to negate any overnight discharge problems and try to trace it that way
Did they wire a Boost controller or turbo timer? I'd start looking there

We pulled the fuse and the battery stayed charged over night. Just weird how all of a sudden it started when the kit was installed. This was before the gauges were installed. The main problem Im really concerned with is the car not staying crunk and the fans not working.

I would look at the Intx then... If you didn't do any interior installs.....kinda strange though?? It shouldn't be on unless the key is on....
As for the fans....If anything is interfering with the perceived temp of the coolant...it will cause the fans to act strange
Check the temp reported by the OBD port and see if it makes sense. If the INTx changes the resistance of the OEM coolant temp sensor it can change what the ECU thinks the real temp is and make the fans come on at strange temperatures

Well the shop couldnt fix the electrical problems before tuning so they told me I should yank out the turbo put the stock parts back in, take it to mazda and let them fix all the wiring...yay another $3000+
I believe I'll just leave everything in and take to Mazda anyways, too much $ to take it out and start over...I dont know...anything electrical pretty much doesnt work.
No idea what to do really lol...sell the car as is? lol sure enough feel like it. 50/50 chance right now.

just check all connections that were done due to the turbo/gauges install. trace them down and see where the power oridginated from and where the grounds are. Just test them with a light to see if they are pulling power when the ignition key is in the off position.
When you say nothing electrical works are you talking about the lights, all interior stuff, etc-- tell us exactly what isnt working?
If the car will not run--then its the INT x connections (the engine will no longer use the maf) --check the iat connection, see if the green light is on the intx, or possible a vaccum lines leack somewhere. Or maybe the tuning shop messed it up as it would run before.
The fans are not touched by the int x to the best of my knowledge.

Sounds to me like a botched install and the shop doesn't want to take responsibility for it. It's always to give your car a good walk through with a shop employee before leaving it so you are both aware of the cars condition at drop off.
This is why I do everything myself.

Well the shop that has the car now that was going to tune it isnt the shop that installed it, although I wish they were lol, the car is still 2hrs away at the shop. But anyways everythings not working really only I think he said a flashing seatbelt light on the dash...He said the aem gauges would come on and go off and the fans would just kick on and off, they would work but not when they needed to, just random on and off and the car is running pretty rough just good enough to get it on the dyno for tuning and thats as far as it made it lol. He said it could be the int-x, but they took that off and still the car wouldnt start up. So now the car just doesnt want to start either. So Im going to have that shop take everything off, have mazda check everything out if it still doesnt run and then have that shop reinstall the kit and I may replace the int-x with a cobb accessport. The shop that has it now is one of the top notch shops in Georgia so Im going to just pay them to reinstall it. A few of these problems started before the gauges were installed just to point that out. But yes this is a nightmare lol..But theres always light at the end of the tunnel :P
And Brettus yes crank = started lol

I know this may not help, just throwing this out there....
Does your Temp Dash Gauge Work?, if not did they accidentally knock off or break or disconnect the plug on the back of the Temperature Sender Unit, behind the Water Pump?
The only other part associated with your Colling Fans are the "Relays", are they OK?, but generally the default if any of the 4 relays fail is ON Maximum fan speed all the times.
I agree with OD and others, just a visual check of connectors and wiring harnesses for any Cuts or Marks done by Turbo Installer.
Non Starting or Firing, is the Crank (e-shaft) Sensor Plug Connected?
BTW: Your Cooling Fans are meant to cycle ON and OFF depending on Coolant or Engine Temps, as I said they should stay on HIGH only if relays are kaput.

wow here it is 4 months later and still no car...
They got most of it fixed, it was the anti theft shutting everything down and a few other problems with a relay. But now theyre trying to tune it and been so for the last month or two. I switched from the Interceptor-X because they couldnt get it with that, so now I got the Cobb Accessport...still no luck and they cant get ahold of anybody from Cobb or Esmeril soo Im guessing by the end of the month I'll be back stock. If so I'll sell the kit on here and most likely will buy another in a few months and retry everything...why? Because it'll be a fresh start....to more bad luck most likely lol....The shop is very reliable and have been in business around 30 years I believe tuning cars and doing custom turbos..etc...Im pretty much tired of being carless for the last 6 or months...the turbo install was at a completely different shop, where I dropped the car off Aug 28th.........................................09
