Two Problems
I recently replaced rear 02 sensor (got a cel code for it), however, I am still having problems with a rough idle. The engine idles between 800-1400 rpm back and forth. I was told it was probably a dirty MAF or a vacuum leak. I check the pressure of my vacuum, and cleaned out the MAF with a MAF cleaner.
What else should I check? Could the stock Cat have clogged up?
New transmission, but noisy and difficult to shift at cold temperatures.
I'm guessing the guy used a higher gear oil rating than what the car calls for when he installed the transmission, so thats why it is probably so difficult to change gear at low temperatures. I am going to change transmission oil this weekend. However, you can hear every sound from the transmission (it gets annoying).. Is there a second boot or any silencing device the mechanic may have forgotten?

what year is your car? mileage? mods?
1. have you changed/ replaced the air filter? Clean the eccentric shaft sensor?
It could also be the cat. Check to see if anything rattles inside, or after driving check to see if it glows red
2. could be the fluid. An audio recording/ video may help

2004 Black RX8, just over 70k miles, just upgraded brakes and suspension parts, no extra power adders, stock exhaust.
1. Changed air filter awhile ago to a simple K&N filter. I use the recharger kit often.
2. I will check the cat asap, and I will try to upload a video within a few days.
I can tell you that the idle problem does not exist with the clutch pushed in, and usually doesn't start acting up until the car is warmed up.

There cotton in the boot. The previous owner may have removed it.
You can here the RX8 transmissions regardless. It's no where near silent like other cars.
Search hunting idle. If it hunts you need a new neutral switch.
