uh... help with 07 MT vacuum lines?
hey guys,
can anyone confirm if S1 vacuum lines are different across years?
I have an 05 and an 07 and the vacuum line setup is totally different.
on the 05, one of the lines going to the intake plugs into the the nipple at the oil filler neck.
on the 07, the oil filler neck vacuum line is going to a T joint, which plugs into the passenger side intake manifold nipples, which are normally not used and plugged off. not plugged into the intake at all.
that leaves an extra nipple on the intake, which is going to a nipple on the vacuum chamber on the driver's side near the firewall. This nipple doesn't seem to exist at all on my 05!!!
can someone help explain wtf is going on here??

there is a bit of a difference between them.
The oil filler neck would dump oil into the maf tube. So they changed it to put the oil into the lower intake manifold.
As for the Vacuum canister. I don't know about that at all, but if it is pre throttle body then it will not see vacuum.
can you post a pic of the vacuum chamber?

thanks for the reply. good to know it's supposed to be different. this is all stemming from installing an MS intake from out of my wrecked 05 into the 07, and this mystery vacuum line wayyyy too short to hook into it.
i'll try to snap a pic, but it'll be tough since it's so tight back there. it's right under the upper intake manifold, underneath and behind where it meets the throttle body.
anyone have a vacuum diagram for this configuration?

I know there is a VFAD hipple just to the right of the Throttle body. If it's connected there, That is big time wrong. That will cause a vac leak. That nipple needs to be sealed off. The only other thing is the Vac chamber, which is more to the left over the center of the engine in the back. but again. Pre throttle body it should not go to that either since it has no vacuum.
You should have one from the AEM going to the oil injectors, and one going to the IDLE air.
but again I am not real familiar with the 07's. To my understanding they are the same 04-08.

There was an update to the UIM to change the ventilation of the engine....they re-routed the lines as you see...it is supposed to help the "water vapor in the dipstick problem" that makes the oil look milky.
I'm not sure if this was a Canadian only thing or not...but it was a TSB that they used to replace my UIM in about 2006 or so

dannobre, so can you confirm that these newer upper intake manifolds have an extra vacuum nipple, and that line is supposed to be going to the intake? I guess I need to just get a longer vacuum hose then, as it seems like the intake isn't designed with this setup in mind.
it's not the VFAD line-- i have that properly plugged. If you guys look at the diagram, if you look at where the green line continues on to the upper intake manifold, the extra nipple is right by there. Only instead of pointing down, this nipple is pointing straight back toward the firewall

I'll see if I can find one to take a picture of
As far as I remember though..it is a crankcase vent line...and not a Vac line....it just is tied into the inspection ports on the lower intake manifold...and those pull a vac. This was a fix to try and get more water vapor out of the oil fill and crankase vapors

can you get a pictutre of yourmanifold from the top front and from the drivers side? I have found a few things pictures. with different vac ports, but it looks like the change was in 2009

To tell you the truth..I can't really remember where the port on the oil fill stlk went to. It might have been blocked off?? I'll look and see if I can find a copy of the TSB anywhere
It won't really be a huge Vac issue...the only Vac is where it attaches to the inspection ports...and they are small. Basically the Jet air line is a vac leak as well.....
Not sure if they did an ECU reprogram when they did the manifold change as well
As far as I know..it didn't do much for the milky oil issue anyway
