Up-to-date TSBs/flash

When we bought our RX-8, I was assured that all TSBs had been performed, including and especially the M-flash, or whatever it's called, for the flooding problem.

Well, we had a pleasant get-together today in the PNW, for a dyno day. Some of the others showed me the stickers under their hoods attesting to the work having been done.

Our car is virgin, with no stickers or other sign of any such work having been done.

How can I find a full list of things that should have been done, so that I can make sure the sleeze-bags do it?

Thanks.

well if I remember mymazda in the mazdausa website allows you to enter your VIN and it gives info if you should update certain things...but not TSBs

I know the PCM flash for M was up but that is all

As for TSBs look at the list:
http://www.finishlineperformance.com...ocs/index.html

if you've had problems listed...get it fixed under warranty and a free rental car

otherwise as for areport wha t was done

Some dealers never put any of the stickers for the TSBs or even the recall work.

Hey 124Spider, when you look at the list of TSBs (including two recalls) that truemagellen provided, it may look a little overwhelming at first, but, depending on your VIN and build date, there may only be a handful that even apply to you. Just before I bought my '04 8 last week (build date: 10/03), I copied the TSBs from the link above and pasted it into an Excel spreadsheet. Then I went through each one and marked which one's applied to me, needed action, and/or were performed. After I bought the car, I went through my spreadsheet, matched up the stickers (only a couple) and found that there are only a couple really minor TSBs left (engine cover grommets, dipstick tube, etc.). I was SOOO relieved! I think the most important TSB for you (not knowing your build date) is getting the "N" flash (02/07/2005). I think you'll be surprised in how few TSBs actually apply to you, too.

Do a search here as you can depress the break, I think, like 20 times and the oil pressure gauge will swing back and forth. This indicates the M flash.

I've never been able to get this to work...I put the key to On, and then pump away, but the brake simply gets tighter and tighter after about 5 pumps, till you can't budge it at all. What am I doing wrong...

it will do that - you only have to tap it enough to get the rear break light to go on

Also- Most of the stickers you saw on cars probably were from the port campaign when the cars first came out - I know my car only has these as my dealer never adds any stickers. Secondly and most importantly, just because there is a TSB out doesn't mean your car will have the associated problem and it doesn't mean that the dealer has to do anything if the problem isn't present - being an owner of a car from the initial shipment, just about all of the TSBs apply to my car but my car only had symptoms of a few of the problems. A TSB points out common problems, its not necessarily a design defect that occurs in every car.
