Urgent help

may 21 junbought a rx8 2004 90k miles
june 19 the clutch broke in many pieces while shifting 5th gear to 4th gear


I'm probably going to intent legal procedures

One question:

On the contract, it's written: "defective clutch bearing"

Can the bearing be the cause of the clutch's break or its impossible???

Saying you're going to take legal action could require a flame suit.

I think its just the top of the pedal itself that snaps, though.

At 90K with the OEM clutch...I wouldn't expect a lot. If they gave you a guarantee when you bought the car they should fix it.....

Some jurisdictions they have an implied used car warranty for a period of time...

Good luck sueing them though.........will cost you way more than putting in a new clutch

A better idea of what actually broke would help.
Did the friction disc come apart, the pressure plate, or just the bearing?
At 90K you are pissing in a fan sir, the clutch lasting this long is good on a sports car.
Did the car come from a dealer or car lot, they may give some warranty.
From a private person you are going to bite the bullet for a clutch.
Yes a bearing can cause damage to the clutch.

put a new clutch in it and stop talking about clueless lawsuits, it's actually a common problem for RX-8s with 1/3 the mileage you have
