Very frightening CEL

About 2000 miles back my car would hesitate when I put foot. It turned into it wouldn't accelerate at all and also a flashing engine light that would go away after about 10 seconds...

I was convinced that it might be oil problem .. I had it changed and the problem seemed to go away until today..

After work , everytime the slightest acceleration .. the car would jump and no accelerate, then i would get the flashing engine light again? ..

If anyone could help, i would be more than happy!!! ")")")")")"

I work at a dodge dealer and they have affiliates with wayne mazda so i won't get screwed over that much with parts pricing...

misfires, change out your spark plugs/spark plug wires and ignition coils...and youll be set, you can buy and do everything yourself for a lot cheaper than the stealership

you can find all the DIYs in the DIY section or just search and it should pop right up

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...ight=diy+coils heres my diy for the coils

YESSSSSSSS, thats way too much, coils should be around 30$ a piece and you only need 4....what did you order for 75$?

heres a place that has the coils for cheap

http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...layCatalogid=0 everthing total for coils is somewhere around 120 for all four

if you got spark plugs for 75 for all four you gotta GREAT deal

Exactly what dozer said. How many miles does your car have, if it's over 30k, and your not sure if they have ever been done, it's definately time. It's a really strait forward job, as long as you have a metric socket set and a 13/16th spark plug socket and a few extensions you can do it super easy. I would reccommend a very small ammount of anti seize on the threads of the plugs as well.

Your $550 number is just about = to the cost of the coil/wires/plugs kit from Black Hole Racing delivered. Plenty of posts on this site to look over if you want to check it out.

As say prior, COILS!

Same thing happened to me, I had two faulter coils so I just replaced all 4 myself. Its pretty simple if you have the extension tools needed. Any problems shoot me a PM.

NP, but still may want to look at Black Halo (thanks for the earlier spelling correction ) as an investment in your ride. Staying stock means regular spend on replacements (I'm over 90K on my 03 build 6MT and have had to buy and install 3 times so far). The BHR kit should give you a longer life span for the invested $$$ and time.
