So am guess that flooding is do to not maintaining your car properly?
Am asking this because I have never heard of flooding, went I leave in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
I had an 86GXL for four year and and a Twin turbo 91 for a year.
I heard of flooding went I got my 04 Rx8GT, Back in 2007.
But I still start my car move it out of my garage wash it, start the car again move it back and turn it off without warming it and I have never had any problem.
Now I am very picky with my car as to maintaining it.
I do all my oil changes myself every 7,500miles and I did change the spark plug at 37,000miles
I do drive it hard, but not all the time.
I just got to 68,000 miles as I don't drive it all the time, since I work only 1.4 miles from my house. I have yet to change coil or wires, as they are still working ok, and yes I study to be a mechanic, and I work for a jaguar shop for a year, before I join the US Army.
I ask this to learn for went my coils start going bad as it looks like the main reason for flooding.
so I guest the car will symptom of;
1. not start as fast or as easy
2. not idle as good or stubble
3. low mpg

glad the issue got resolved, reminds me of the one time my car got flooded dad related as well I was sleep he got up early to wash his car moved mine and left it where it was I know he's **** about putting things back in place so I was like yea he probably flooded it went to move it and it was flooded I was like "wow dude I told you to let the needle move at least a few notches off the C before shutting it down".
the needle can be below C and it wont flood. As long as your rpm's became stable youre fine. Mine flooded once in winter when I went on vacation for a week, came back, started the car and it shut off by itself.
I periodically move my car and let it run for 45 secs and shut it off. As long as its not in "warm up mode" youre good to go.

The surest sign that the coils are bad is when it floods. You will be surprised how worn plug can be and still fire with enough spark. But, the best plug in the world will not fire without spark.
Problem is, the computer will adjust for an awful lot, then suddenly cannot adjust any more and you are toast.

When you install them, do the 20 brake pedal stomp to reset the ECU. I think the procedure is to turn on the car and stomp the brake pedal 20 times as fast as you can. One of the gauges will move to tell you it succeeded on some models. All this and more is in the links above.

I think it is:
1 key on
2 press and release brake pedal 20 times fast, just enough to flash the brake lights
Depending on the year, one of the gauges will move, I think it is oil pressure, to tell you it worked.
Or, disconnect battery.
