WEIRD ISSUE!! Any Ideas?
Ok so there's been some weird stuff going on recently and I'm not sure what the problem could be. Basically what is happening is that on a rare occasion (every couple of days at most) my car freaks out and the stereo, traction control, and sometimes power steering all fail for a short period of time (a few seconds at most). The engine continues to operate normally. Most of the time this happens at low speed when the steering wheel is turned (read: parking). Occasionally It'll last longer and if I move it with the steering wheel straight it goes away, also on a rare occasion (I think twice so far) the traction control and DSC remain disabled when restarting for one cycle. So far I haven't been able to consistently replicate the scenario to create the system failure.
Does anyone have a clue as to what could be causing this? The only recent changes to the car have been a few mazdamaniac tunes and I replaced the door amps for my speakers. Other than that everything has pretty much remained the same. I was thinking that the ground wire might be slightly worn or loose or something and that could be causing it? I also have coilovers so the car rides fairly stiff and New England roads arent exactly forgiving. Any thoughts or help would be much appreciated.

I think your car is possessed or it has that paranormal activity of some sort, i don't know what's going on, but it's weird and shocking.
Anyway, you may have loose wires or connections of some kind. Electrical is not my area of expertise, but it's better to have a professional electrician to handle that issue. Because, if you do it yourself, it may just get worst. It's up to you what you wanna do. Good luck and i hope your car is not haunted, lol

Sometimes electrical problems are easy to find, maybe you will get lucky and find it fast. You may also spend a ton of time hunting it down if its a loose wire somewhere. It can get pretty pricey if its not an easy one to find.

for such a wide variety of electrical problems i would check your battery cable. Your car would run fine for a while with a cable not properly connected, after start up it basically runs off the altenator. However the cable would cause your computer to reset itself causing those things, sometimes its not losing connection long enough to do anything more than just flicker your stereo and others long enough to reset it and turn off your traction control. is your battery still mounted in the battery box or have you moved it? I don't know anything about those mazdamaniac tunes you speak of, but i doubt it has anything to do with it unless it has to do with doing things to your computer. then maybe but i doubt it.

Yea the battery is mounted in the stock location but my feeling is that it must have something to do with a battery cable or something similar, i doubt the tune has anything to do with it.

Ok i'll check the battery and try to catch some codes. I guess I should also mention that I have the agency power underdrive pulley. could that be contributing? when I bring the rpm's up it seems to go away so maybe its a voltage issue?
