Weird starting issue…..
I have 2- 2004’s.
one of them is more of a show car. But this one has been kinda wonky lately.
let me start out by saying that I just had the clutch replaced by somebody who did a terrible job and I had to end up taking it to somebody else to get everything fixed.
before all this my car was clean and beautiful. Not a single problem. What an amazing car. It’s been modded correctly.
so when I got it back from the second garage everything seemed fine it had run great for over a hundred miles. Not an issue.
but then one day it doesn’t wanna start. I have to keep cranking. Finally it does start, but it sounds….. almost flooded…?? I dunno how to say. But from inside the car it sounded like someone started a lawn mower in my garage. So I get out but by the time I get yo the rear of the car it had evened out and was running properly.
now it does this every cold, and anything less than hot, start.
I have had problems previously with eshaft sensor issues so I immediately changed that to see if it was the problem. It wasn’t. I took apart my cold air intake and cleaned it and the throttle body. Cleaned MAF sensor.
also now that I was honk about it. About 20 miles into getting car back from second garage a piece of intake wasnt fastened properly and unmetered air was getting in before the MAF sensor. That problem was corrected right away.
mom trying to give as much info on the car as I can.
So still on start, after ignition catches, it sounds flooded, to me. I dunno how else to put it. After a little bit of that it will straighten out and catch on.
I took her to Orlando yesterday, because she’s never not started, and once she starts she’s ok. And my car ran beautifully. On the way back home, as I was going through Sarasota, I met up with a Lexus, a mustang, and a Land Rover. And we spent through Bradenton and Sarasota at between 105 & 126. Average was around 115. Not a single problem with my car. I didn’t lead the pack or anything but we weren’t always in the back either. It’s hard other cars on the highway. Lol
but yeah she did amazing so this starting issue baffles me.
I tried to attach a video. Of the exhaust when it starts to when it catches. I’m hoping someone will recognize this and be able to tell me something definite. If you want more info please feel free to ask some questions.
