Okay so I'm trying to limit how much I come here but a search didn't yeild anything close to what I'm experiencing...

Its done this twice now but several days apart.

I'll enter the car with FOB key everything unlocks at the door button, or button on key when I turn the key block( the little black peice that goes over the ignition) It goes Click click, but then everything dies...

The only success I get to start it is if I remove the block and actually insert the hidden key on the FOB unit into the key part. Once started its literally like the battery was dead... The DSC OFF light blinks, the traction control light off light is on, the radio presets lost, and milage tripometer reset. (the first time I had a CEL but that is gone as if the code was cleared from a dead/disconnected battery reset)

Nothing looks loose electrically in the engine bay, but im not even sure where to look, all fuses look good. etc. Battery is less then a year old... could the starter be going bad and draining the system to minimum needed voltage to start?

 

I'd start with a through cleaning of all the battery connections.

 

Update still doing it...

Theres also a...almost residual burnt electronic smell around the area of the starter, and when I got in the car this morning before i had touched anything the 6 cd player was what sounded like going through its paces to swap cds o_O?!

I tried different times this morning, I turn the ignition everything blacks out and behaves like a dead battery if I wait about 2 to 3 minutes slowly indicator lights come back on and I can try again.

I'll be taking it to get the battery and alternator tested after work if I can start it... :/

 

Wasn't actually able to prove anything with the test battery and alternator all check out good, which I suspect is due to the car running or atleast successfully starting, but this morning a new issue...

Same symptoms turn, click, dead... but now if I open/shut the door with the key turned it will get turn over. This leads me to believe there is a loose/faulty connection somewhere that is cause a drain on the battery over time...
