Weird Vacuum Leak

So I have been going through the service manual to figure out where this vac is supposed to be hooked up to but its not listed in the manual. It is located under the air pump. I have attached some pics so you could see what I am talking about. Anyone know where this is supposed to be connected or if it should be capped.

Um that is very important. That is your jet air line.

Ok I always thought the uncolored lines went to the two ports on the side of the air intake manifold. So lets say the two ports were connected to the air hose instead of the air jet line.

Then you should not have anything hooked up to the two nipples on the lower intake manifold. Unless a dealer or someone converted yours to the new setup. But either your jet air hose should be attached.

Would the cleaning method that people have used to steam clean the engine by letting the two nipples take in water affect my car in any way if I do that. I ask because I see a lot people talk about it. Don't mean to stray from the main topic but it was a sub question I had.

It's pointless. Fix the problem at hand.

I have connected the jet air line to the air hose and have capped the two air ports. The car still drives sluggish so I am going to change the spark plugs and see if that helps. Thanks for telling me helping me out 9krpm rx8.

Try resetting the computers sensor profiles via the "brake stop" method. If your car has been this way for a while it may need it. Also if that has been sucking in dirty unmetered air then chances are you engine is pretty gummed up. New plugs, coils, air filter, wires, etc. and a good hard long drive should get things in order.

I reset the computer via that method last night and havent moved her since. I gotta find a place to set the car so that I can change the sparks since my apartment complex doesn't allow people to work on their cars here.

Just try taking her on a long drive and get everything up to temp. The plugs have self cleaning capability built in and your engine may just need it.

It is hard to do long drives when the car accelerates really slow and won't go over 50 mph. Engine feels really weak.

Oh, it's that bad? Well then I suggest starting with regular maintenance items.

Yeah I am going to start with the plugs and see if that helps if not moving onto the coils, then the oil filter, and then to replacing the cat and o2 sensor. If all else fails guess I need a new engine.

Accelerates really slow and won't go over 50 sounds like limp mode. Was there any work done on the car before it started acting up?

The last thing that was done was the transmission was changed but that wasnt the cause of it this all really started because the air hose broke and car was being driven with it broken. Had loaned my car to someone in the family and when I got it back they complained the car would shut off and not stay I pop the hood and see the air hose broken. I replaced the air hose the next day and thats when I started having this problem.

Well I ordered new coils last night and will wait for them to arrive and will update if that resolves the sluggish acceleration.

Unplug the battery for a minister then start the car and see uf it is sluggish or not. rev it imediately(above 6 k) and see if it is sluggish

If it revs immediately then gets sluggish it is probably the omp sensor.

It did exactly that this morning. It was driving fine then got sluggish even before I left my apartment complex. It was even driving fine after changing all the coils and then sluggish after shutting the car off. I will look into the omp sensor. I also looked into the CEL and got the P2559 and P0661.
