Welding for BOV

I just want to comment that I'm not that happy that Greddy's turbo kit doesn't come with a pipe ready for a BOV. It's no big deal, but having ordered a greddy bov myself, i think it's bad business that they don't provide something in the kit to support their other products.

I agree, however mine is getting done free, being on an air force base and f16's are mostly aluminum, there are a few guys around here that can weld it for me :D

I was also suprised it didn't come with a BOV. I had a APEXi BOV welded on, and a custom flange made for just over $100... not bad for a great job.

yea, its just an inconvenience that gets under my skin. Kinda like how I can't get the engine mount bolts off, kind of a bummer.

A custom flange for the BOV, or a custom flange for the recirc fitting at the other end? Flanges normally sell for around $20. I may have gotten lucky--the Greddy RS flange wasn't in stock when I needed one and a local mechanic was able to fabricate one for $35.

Jw, is the Greddy Type R bov to stiff for the greddy kit? I thought i was buying a universal rs on ebay, like the item was labeled, and i get a Type R in the mail. Its a better BOV, but I think the boost won't be enough to push it. Do i need to get another BOV?

I agree. I expexted that the BOV I bought with the kit would be a bolt-on. In fact, the flange was missing and they sent one separately - only it's steel! But it's ok - I don't have aluminum welding equip so I think I'll weld on another flange to the steel and then bolt/rivet it onto the intake pipe.
