hi.... i have a 04 mt rx8 and when i try to start the car i have to turn the key for about 3 seconds b4 it start ? can someone tell me whats the problem ?

beside that eveything was fine but when i changed my engine oil at some auto shop when i drive 130 to 140 when i release my foot off the gas i hear some "squeeky" sound untill its back to 115 to 120ish ??? do i need to rechange the engine oil again or something eles is wrong? hope someone understand and provides some tips to me, just got this car for about 2 months

 

Did this just start? How long has it been this way?
Start by measuring the battery voltage with the ignition off. The voltage should be above 12.5 V.

 

Do you have the newer style starter which turns faster?

 

when the car is off the battery icon is still on....do i need to replace a new battery ?is that why the car start like that ? and also sometimes when i drive 130to140 when i release my foot off the gas i hear some sound and when it hit 120to100 the sound gone? this problem happened after i changed the engine oil? do i need to change the engine oil again ? plz

 

If your battery lite is on when it's running your alternator is not charging your battery. Check your battery voltage with the car running and you will see it's lower than 12v...and should be above 13v when running.

 

There are a couple things that may cause this issue. Use the search feature and then take it to the dealer.

 

My 04 was given a dealer "flash" of the computer to delay fuel for 3 seconds every startup. This is to avoid the dreaded "flooding" on startup.

Perfectly normal with this dealer "fix".
