What is wrong with my RX8??

Ok I bought a 2004 6speed rx8 in July at 48,000miles on it. It now has 57,000 on it. I love my car, but yesterday it just randomly started making this deeper "lawn mower diesel" sound (sorry don't really know how else to describe the sound). So when I start it up it takes a minute like its trying to catch. I've read some other threads that are somewhat similar and most of them have said after they have changed the plugs, wires and coils it runs fine. So does anyone have any other tips or anything? I plan to go ahead and change that to see if it will work.

If you read the other threads carefully then you'd even know what the general procedure is...
Compression test, ignition check up etc etc etc.

Dude I'm just getting tips. I'm not a car mechanic. That's why I started this thread because I couldn't find people that had the EXACT problem as I do, just some similar.

I would have a look internally at the Catalytic Convertor. A restriction in the exhaust flow will cause this issue.

My advice would be take it to a mechanic that is able to work on rotary engines. Since you said you aren't one, which sort of implies you don't know enough to test and fix the possible issues.

This is in no way is meant as a dis toward you.

Alright so I finally got the ignition coils order and changed... That was it YAY! The power is back in the engine and the engine sounds like itself again! So if there is anyone having problems like I did, definitely check your ignition coils first!!!
