WTH Transmission Issue
OK, I am having the weirdest problem. I am trying to drop my transmission. I have everything I need to detached! Including:
Drive Shaft
Power Plant Bar
Starter
Master/Slave
Shifter
All 6 Bell Housing Bolts
The transmission is in neutral. For some reason the bell housing will not let go of the engine and I can't drop the damn thing! Two of us have tried jimmying the thing, tapping the housing and the input shaft with a mallet, putty knife in between the engine and transmission, nothing will dislodge this bitch!
Ideas?

I've got a motorcycle jack underneath the transmission so I am not worry about it falling. Can't find a good spot the get the pry bar up there either. It not like this thing has a seal or anything like that so I don't understand why the hell it is stuck on.

It just gets stuck sometimes, mine was a bit stubborn. Can you get in from the top through the little plate/window?

Pilot bearing fused itself to the input shaft. Had to bring her to a shop and they used a hydraulic arm to separate the engine from tranny. A bunch of labor and frustration and a none working car for a $12 part in the bell housing.
Oh well, at least I don't need to new clutch or transmission!

Yeah and I saved a bunch on labor as I took apart everything else that needed to come off the car. My tows also came from AAA so that was already paid for a long time ago. $80 for the hydraulic arm and $12 for the part. Add in cleaning up the input shaft and I am a little over $100. Considering my car wasn't working I'll take those numbers any day.
