100 Treadwear R compounds....
Any ideas who makes them? I will be looking for 245's to run on stock wheels. I have looked at the RE-01R, that has a 140 UTQG, and available in 245 with the right profile.
Any other suggestions?

I am not aware of any R compound tire with a 140 treadware rating. The highest rating i show on an R compound tire would be 80 and that is on the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup. As a side note the Bridgestone RE01R is not an R compound. It is an ultra high performance dry weather only tire however is a standard street type compound. The R in the name is a little misleading.
I would say the top two tires i would have for traction level for the RX8 would be either the Bridgestone RE01R (140) or the Yokohama Advan Neova AD07 (180). I listed all the avaialble option for the RX8 below.
225/45R18 Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R -- 223.00
245/40R18 Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R -- 217.00
225/45R18 Yokohama Advan Neova AD07 -- 246.00
255/40R18 Yokohama Advan Neova AD07 -- 289.00

I just got my RE-01R's put on yesterday. 245/40/18. Awesome tires, because they are new, a little slippery but the grip on these tires are still incredible. Seems a lot quiter than the stock potenza (re040) and i feel some improvement in ride quality These tires really compliment the 8. My stock potenzas where almost bald and leaking air so the ride quality would regaurdless be better with any new tire...

I would do a set of 50-60 UTQG R comps, but I don't have enough mod points left to run them. That would bump me up a class, which I really need to avoid

The Toyo RA-1 is a 100 UTQG. I'm not sure what the Hankooks are but definitely another alternative. I'm replacing my RE040s with RE-01R tomorrow with 245/40. Track on 5/20 - can't wait. Still have 3/32 left but my ears are killing me over 40mph.

I have the RE-01R that I track. They are great but they aren't R compound tires nor do they have grip like them. They are like Connor said in the top 2 for overall grip of a non R compound street tire.
They track really well. I have 3 events on mine and they are wearing pretty well (considering how hard I track them).

Avenger,
What pressures are you runnning on the street and on the track? Just had mine installed today. All I can say is WOW! The body roll is soooo pronounced since they stick so well. Look damn mean too.
