From 16"s to 18"s

Hi guys, this is my 1st post on the forum, but have been watching it for a whole while now. I have a 2005 standard 8 VR not the HPmodel unfortunately, it's got 16" wheels on as you know, but I'm thinking of going to 18"s , anyone here that has done it on the standard version and if so is there a noticible loss in power or not? All I have done on mine so far is midpipe and airbox vents have been removed, still want to do some mods but only want to work on the looks for now

Thanks guys

you shouldn't see any difference in power and the looks of the 18" wheels is worth it.
besides, they're on sale here all the time, you could pick up a set for cheap if you keep an eye on the F/S subforum.

18x8.5 with a 35mm offset. Put 265x35-18's and your set. DO IT! The car will look so good you won't notice any loss of power. Which I don't think there is.

The pic is with a 1.25 inch drop. It's up to you.
I would drop it.

Correct me if I'm wrong but.. Wouldn't his car be set up to run on 16s? So if he upped it to 18in rims, wouldn't his reading in terms of speed, and miles traveled be off?

No, as long as the diameter difference is less than +or- 3%, it's all good.
