Starting a search for winter rims and tires... See a nice set of rims at a decent price... 17x7, 5x100/5x114.3, +40mm... Would those fit the 8 without ant issues?

Nice...
Pic:
I could run them on the RX8 for the winter with some new winter tires...
Then, install them on my gf's '02 Protege LX next summer... (If they do in fact have the 5x114.3 bolt pattern that I read they have... I never had the hubcap off to check yet)
I have a set of 17's at home right now from my Celica, but they have a 5x100 bolt pattern, so they are no good to me, but the rubber on them only has a few thousand kms and would go great on the new rims if I were to get them...
As I typed this though, I spoke with my father who just picked up a little old Civic to fix up and sell, and he may just let l me run it for the winter instead of the 8... MUCH better idea IMO... lol

That is definetely a possibility... The rims on my 8 all have some curb rash from the douchebag who owned it before me...
I just figured I could probably pick up 17's w/ winter tires for the same price as I could get a good set of 18" winter tires, and then I could throw the same 17's on the gf's Protege for the summer with the 17" summer tires I already have lol
(I could be totally wrong and it might be way cheaper to just buy 18" winter tires for the 8 lol...)
But hopefully i'll have the Civic for the winter and then just pick up some new rims/tires for the 8 this coming summer, and if they fit, throw the stock 18's on the gf's Protege
