17x8 and 17x9

will these size rims fit on our 8? 17x8 on the front and 17x9 on the back? ET 35

what performance difference will it make? do 17's look too small on our 8s? would i need spacer for the rear and what exactly is the offset?

anyone switching to 17's get better mpg?
any other comments?

also for tire widths this big (9) is it going to be harder to find tires at store and are the price differences going to be dramatically different?

The main concern on running 17's is if they'll clear the front brakes on the sport pkg (not a prob if you have the smaller brakes on the auto).

I'm running 17x8's now and also have a pair of 17x9's for the rear for drag racing. They made a noticeable acceleration increase due to less weight. They don't look too small in my opinion.
Note, I have noticed rubbing on the rear 17x9's with 45offset... a better offset would be 55mm if you can find any (or roll the fenders).

Specs:Kosei KS-T1 in gold , 17x8, 45mm offset ; Falken Azenis RT-615, 245/45/17's

2 drag wheel/tires: Kosei KS-T1 in gunmetal 17x9, 45mm offset; BF Goodrich Drag radial 2's, 275/40/17's

offset as explained by tirerack.com

Basically how far in/out the wheel sits. Too far in and it'll scrape the inner wheel well, too far out and the outer fender will rub on the tire.
If you don't get the correct size, you'll mess with the balance of the car.

THIS might help.

Also, check my cardomain page

...of course, I'm not lowered yet (but then I'm allowed to roll the fenders )

to be more specific the rim im looking at is 5-ZIGEN FN01R-C 17x8.0 & 17x9.0 ET 35 BOLT 5-114.3

or
fn01r Matte Black, 5x114.3 bolt pattern, 2 - 17x9.0 +35, 2 - 17x10 +35.

anyone with the fn01r know if there will be rubbing with that?

i have pics they didnt come out really well lighting issues.. ill see what i can do.. rolling is pretty easy you can rent the roller from certain places and do it yourself following the instruction.. what it does is push up the fender lip so you clear lower offset wheels i am running 19x9.5 witha 25 offset in the back ..
