18 x 7.5 fit on stock tires?

I currently drive a mazdaspeed protege that is for sale and I am pretty sure going to be picking up a used 6spd 8 in a few weeks. I have some wheels sitting around from the protege that are Rev Model II's that are 18x7.5 and I am just wondering if I can wrap the stock tires around these wheels and mount them on the 8. I realize the stock wheels are 18x8 but I am unsure whether the same tires could go on some 18x7.5s...

ps the wheels have pattern of 5x114.3 and 5x100 so the same wheel fits both the protege and the 8 also, the offset is 45 i believe

The stock tire (225/45/18) will fit fine on a 7.5" rim. As a matter of fact a lot of people switch to 245/40/18 on the 8" rims, once their first set go bald.

Yes, I run 18 x 7.5. No problems with stock tires.

I now use 245 Kumho's, which are a little big for the wheel for mounting but they work great!
