19" rim question

19" rim question
why does it seem in my searching that the most popular size aftermarket rims people buy are 18". Is this because people want to use their current tires or due to overall weight/performance? Is it because this cost difference between 18 and 19 inch tires? Or does the one inch increase wheel gap and require suspension mods to get a clean look? Im currently searching for some aftermarket wheels and I was wondering the plusses and pitfalls of changing wheel size. I currently have 18" factory set.
Thanks guys

Maybe but tires is the last place you want to go cheap. Not implying you would and it is just a general statement.
Factory is 225/45/18. My wheels are 255/35/19 and they are very close in size.
You want to keep the rolling diameter as close to the OE setup as possible. This keeps your speedo from being off and more importantly if you are still under warranty, it does not run out sooner. If your rolling diameter is different than stock, you will log more miles on your odometer than has occurred in reality.
