19X9.5 all around?

Has anyody mounted 19X9.5 or 19X10 at all four corners? I'm really loving the fat lip look. And the oe sizes are the same all around, so I would like to keep the balance. I'm looking at 19X9.5 or 10 +35 offset Axis Hiro's with 255/35/19 tires at every corner. I believe it will fit, just want to be sure.

Anybody have pics?

I just put 19x8.5" 35mm offset - 245/35/19 wheels and tires all around on my 8 and the front just barely fit. Barely. If you want to take a look go to:

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-wheels-tires-brakes-suspension-55/lighting-yellow-w-19x8-5-falken-koblenz-black-w-polished-lip-53976/

Good luck with your new wheels.

Nice ride....

I'm looking for that real fat lip all the Z's sport but at all four corners.....I had that style, but to a smaller degree on my old AE86, 15X8 0 offset....nice phat lip, old school style. I saw the FD in SCC Ultimate street car challenge, it was sporting 18X10's all around, it looks amazing. Again, I'm not a fan of the staggered look or feel.

congrates on the buy. i hope they fit too.
just checked the tyre calculator, the rear will be 0.7" bigger than factory and the front will be the same as the factory (dia. at 26"), so you the rear end of your 8 will sit 0.7" higher than the front.... :o guess thats not too bad

btw, i have 20" x 8.5" alloys with 245/35 tyres all round :D

I have 19" X 8.5" upfront (38 mm offset) w/ 6.5 mm spacer and it is on the very edge of my front wheel well. Another 18 mm out (an inch is around 22 mm, so -3 mm from my offset & + 7 mm from my spacer = 18 mm) & you will be sticking out a bit. I have pictures of my setup on the board :

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-wheels-tires-brakes-suspension-55/pictures-my-car-new-stern-rims-53810/

Go a few posts down & you will see how flush my front rims are with 235/35/19's. I think you can go to 245/35/19's though.

Did you try to mount those 9.5's up front, just to see how they fit? Too close to spring/damper, rub the fender liner, or fender lip?

anybody with 19X9 or wider wheels(with tires) that mounts them on the front. Take lots of pics and give a detailed review on how they fit and any problems.

I'm reaching here.......

No, I didn't. The 8.5" already goes out to the side of the car where it is flush with the body. It is not really close to the springs or the fender at all as the front seems to be higher than the rear. Where the 9.5" rim would not fit well is that it would stick about an 1" out of the car. I wanted my car to look clean, not like a low riding hoopie...for lack of a better term.

all depends on the offset.
you can probably fit 10" wide wheels for the front of you can get a custom offset, that will clear the factory structs, inner guards and outter guards.

i had 19 x 8.5 all around with 245/35 front and 275/30 rear tyres.

OK...but the OE wheels are the same size and offset all around, so if the 19X9.5 wheels you have on the rear don't stick crazy out in the rear, why would they stick out more in the front? I'm trying to run a wide wheel at every corner, but with a conservative 255 section tire, not a huge 275, or 285. So I believe the tires will not rub but I'm just curious as how the wheel sits...if there is plenty space on the inside strut area, then that's good news.... I can always roll a fender lip if I have to.

Because the front & rear are different widths. If you notice the rear stock wheel is usually recessed in farther than your stock front wheel. You have more room to play with width wise on your rear wheel. On your front you have more room height wise. You can easilt run a 255 tire on a 9.5" wheel, hell you can easily run one on a 8.5" wheel, but the 9.5" wheel (with a 35 mm offset) will stick out (width wise) from your front fender well a bit. I don't see a problem with rubbing as I have seen people with 245/35/19's on their cars and it is still good (but it is on an 8'5" rim).

You don't understand my question.....OE 18X8 +50mm offset at every corner.....all the wheels fit the same front and back.....my question is....I want to go a little wider, 9inch or 9.5.....how would they fit. I'm do not want to stagger size them...

So, if those 19X9.5 wheels you have mounted in the rear only stick out about an inch farther out than the OE 18's mounted in the rear, than they should deviate equally when installed in the front. I just want to know how they fit, if they hit anything, what would be needed to make them fit.

Any more info on that Mazdatrix setup?

Thanks!!!! :D

Do they hit anything ? No. Nothing else is needed. You do understand that a 35 mm offset means you are already pushing the rims out another 15 mm right (than the OEM's 50 mm offset) ? The 9.5" sticks out about 1.5" for the rims & 15 mm for the offset (about 2 1/8") farther than the stock rim (not 1" like you think).

noticed your thread very easily, cuz i am having that debate about my rims. I am also thinking about 19" x 9.5' all around. Offset was going to be 35mm, so HOPEFULLY it will work. I am getting the Stern Tourning wheels. though i am having troubles with tire sizes, SINCE these are gonna be my VERY first tires i am ever buying. I was still highly considering the potenzas as they are really good tires. Can anyone help me with tire sizes please. Once i have them on i will note all the details about 9.5 all around

I have these rims on my car :

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=53810

I have 8.5" (38 mm offset) up front, 9.5" (35 mm) on the back. On a 9.5" rims you can fit pretty much from 255 to 285 tires (I have 265's & they look a little narrow on the 9.5"). With the 38 mm offset on the Sterns it just barely scraped the caliper a bit. If you got to a 35 mm offset realize that you are going to stick out of the fender a little bit (take a ruler and add about 2 1/4" to your current OEM tire outwards that is where the side of your rim/tire will be).

Honestly, the Potenzas are average tires. If you want better tires go for the BF Goodrich KDW2 or Pirelli P Zero Neros if you need all weather tires or the Toyo T1S/Falken 451 (less expensive but still very good tires), Michelin Pilot Sport 2's, Goodyear GS-D3's, or BF Goodrich KD's for summer tires.

I've been doing more research...seems like a 19X9.5 with a +45mm offset will work fine...the key is the tire....in my case I am going to use a 255 section tire. I am sure it will be fine. 255-35-19 is the size 'll be using.

You should be very careful with that. My fronts were 38 mm offsets & I scraped the caliper (a very little bit) before I put the spacer on it. A 45 mm offset (at least in a Stern I don't know about the rim that you are getting) would definitely dig into the caliper.

I know what you are saying...it depends on the wheel too. Axis Hiro's are designed with maximum caliper clearance in mind...
