225/45/18 on 18x8.5?
I have some Rays RE30s 18x8.5 (IIRC ET 35 or 38) fitted with 245/40/18 tyres (Road use, no track days).
I find the steering a bit heavy and have some 225/45/18 tyres spare.
Standard tables suggest 225 is a bit narrow for 8.5. I can’t though find anything on what difference the 8.5 vs 8 width makes in practice or how likely a bead might pop off under road cornering.
Does anyone have any experience?
