i was reading this thread the other day, just so happens that i needed some tires; and i just put 245's on my 8 yesterday. they look better that 225's and they feel better to me as well. they look hella aggressive, i 'm just glad they're functional as well.

guys i m using 32psi and i feel like they are either too soft or with less pressure.
with bridgestone it was too stiff in the road.

what is the maximum ? 36psi?

The maximum pressure for any tire is printed on the tire sidewall itself.

Anyone here run the Falken Azenis on the stock rim? They have a 255/40/18 that almost identically matches the diameter of stock. Guess that'd probably be a better AutoX tire than a daily driver anyway.

how is the steering feel? does the wider tire feel heavier and harder to turn in?

not really,

but it depends on the characteristic of the tire you put on... you will feel a change in air pressure more than you will feel 20mm on a na car.

hi there im just new here and im also pondering on changing my old tires.. for both street AND track use (1/4 mile).

im thinking how about 225/40 tires for my stock 18" rims?

they weigh about 2 lbs less than 245/40s (accdg. to Toyo Proxes T1R chart).

would that make a big difference in the straight line?

thanks in advance.

225/40s are smaller by about 0.8" than stock 225/45s and still smaller by 0.3" than 245/40s.

i thought smaller wheels are better in straights since they seem to increase the final gear ratio and also lower the inertia..

need help.. other opinions are welcome

I agree with swoope, if you wanna go for straight line racing...you need to buy a different car!
