Max psi on these tires is 44. Anything over that would be overinflation, and then I'd be concerned about uneven wear. The tires on my last car were rated at a max psi of 40, I ran them at 36, and they were still in great shape after almost 4 years of driving on them (around 40K mi). I think maybe the 32psi figure takes ride comfort into account; I'm more intereseted in handling than ride, so a little extra psi feels better to me.

Oh, and Rotary Nut, so far they ride great. The sidewall feels a little softer than the RE040s, so they absorb the bumps and potholes a lot better, but the still feel great in the corners so far. It's been snowy/rainy/damp/wet here for the last several days, so I really haven't gotten to test their dry grip (I'm generally a cautious driver, especially in wet/damp/snow...) Once the warmer temps of Spring get here, I'll be able to better judge the summer handling/traction. I'm still keeping my mind open to the possibility at that time of getting new rims with dedicated summer tires, if necessary. Kinda the flip of the usual trend. If I'm gonna lay out the cash for new rims, I'm gonna get better ones than the stock, so I couldn't swallow buying new rims for winter.

Anyways, that's my view on the subject. I'm sure others have different views, that's what makes the world go 'round. :D
