ABS, Emergency Brake and Slippery Car lights went on

Sorry, I don't know the technical term for those indicator lights.

First I'd like to say that tonight was the 4th winter storm that I have driven my RX-8 in and I have to say that it is great in this weather, much better than expected. Although the Toyo Garrit HT's are doing an amazing job the whole package and balance of the vehicle combined is working great together.

That being said an interesting thing happened this evening after running on what seemed to be more ice than snow on the way home from a party. The DCS kicked in as usual as the slippery car indicator flashed quite a bit then all of a sudden the light stayed on and at the same time the ABS indicator and E-Brake indicator came on as well. These three stayed on for the rest of the drive home, about 1/2 hour and I assumed that my ABS, Traction Control and DCS was non-operational. I have to say that the whole ride home the car felt very stable although when I got home I did a little test and my assumption was correct. Everything went back to normal after I turned off the car then back on again.

Anyone experience this? I'm not sure why this happened and I am a bit concerned that it happened at all as my car has been flawless since I picked it up in september. Although I am glad to see how well the car runs in a winter storm without these features.

I have my first service coming up soon and I will bring it up with the dealer of course but thought you guys would have some answers.

I've had that happen with my Acuras and Hondas over the years. I'd say chances are you got ice and snow caked up on the wheelspeed sensors that are embedded in the brake rotor and mounted on the shock tower. If those lose signal, it causes all kiinds of warning light hell. They probably melted off after you stopped.

Yah, seems everything is fine after I turned the car off and on like a reboot. Found it strange as I've never had a car with all these sensors everywhere, also surprise it would disable everything but like I said, car handled great anyways!
