Adjustable air bag suspension??

Does anyone know where I can find an application for air bags for the rx8. I love the look of the lowered car but my driveway is too high for that. I need the car to be about 2" or so higher when entering so i don't rub. It will cost about 2500$ to repave my driveway so I was looking to get air bag suspension to raise the car when entering and exiting my driveway.

Has anyone done this or know a site that would have an application for our cars?

Dude...
Just no...

I can't believe that you're even considering airbags for the 8...

Well, I'm not going to say anything else, I'll let the rest of the 8 community chime in.

I agree that paying $4,500 to ruin a great handling suspension is crazy but it's your money. The only one I could find is made by http://www.airrunner.co.jp/

2500 to fix a driveway.... 4500 to ruin a next to perfect suspension.... take the 2000 youll save and out it elsewhere to upgrade the car..

I am not worried about the handeling on the 8. I have a mustang with 700+rwhp. This is my wife's car and I would rather not have her runing front bumpers on a daily basis. If I can't find the suspension I want for cheaper than the price of the driveway I will fix the driveway. Besides I live in Louisiana and we have some of the worse roads in the US. I would rather have a smooth riding car than a bumpy riding car. I understand that the handeling on the 8 is great. I have played around with it myself, but thats not what she is using it for. I am not trying to get flamed or anything. Just looking at my options. I agree, I would not want air bags on a sports car myself, but just trying to protect the body. She is also wanting hideous chrome rims on it and I am trying to get her to go alloy. But hey its her car so I gotta do what the misses wants.

Cool

Let me put it in perspective - airbags will make your '8 handle EVEN WORSE than that Mustang....

So do you already have lowering springs & therefore the car is too low, or are you looking for the dropped look but know you will run into the bumper issue?

not necessarily, that might have been true about 3-4 years ago, but the technology has come a long way and it's not the same game anymore.

Let me put it in perspective as well,

This Camaro is auto-crossing in this pic, and it's on bags to boot:

big heavy *** car like that on bags surely can't handle right?

lloks to me like the lean in this pic is no worse than an average car:

think outside the box folks, adjustable suspension isn't as bad as it used to be>

That 71 Camaro has alot more than bolt in air bags, so it should be able to handle as good as a stock RX-8

don't do it, you'll regret it. Get some coilovers or just park on the street.
