Some Nittos are good.
Some Dunlops are good
Some Bridgestones are good
Some Yokohamas are good
Some Kumhos are good
Some Michelins are good
Some Toyos are good
Some BFG's are good
Some Continentals are good
Some Falkens are good
Some Pirellis are good
Some Continentals are good

Most Goodyears are bad
Most Sunny's are bad
Most Nexen are bad
Most Nankang are bad
Most Sumitomo are bad
Most other Chinese brand tires are bad.

Stock wheels are 18x8 and come with 225/45/18. a lot of people run 245/40/18's instead

people run 245's because they are wider. Wider = more possible contact patch.

Are you looking for all-seasons or straight summer tires?

What is your budget?

Do 245 tires fit on the stock rim? How does that work?

Yes 245's fit on the stock wheels. they're just a little wider.

I would suggest that both of you search around the forum and see what everyone else is running as far as tires go. There are tons of threads and reviews, you just have to look.

If your moving away from the stock size, look at the specs for the tire your selecting to see it's recommended rim size. If you start putting too wide of a tire on a rim, the tire will bulge slightly in the middle and you won't get the contact patch that you would with the narrower tire.

There is plenty of good information on tirerack.com that will help you decide what tire is best for you. I personally prefer extreme performance tires in the summer because I like the feel and cornering capablilites and am willing to sacrifice noise and low tread life. I know that others use there cars as a daily driver and like a good combination of performance and comfort and use the kumho ecsta stp.(and price) Use the site and find out whats best for you
