Aftermarket wheels less likely to bend?

Pretty simple question. I have become super paranoid about every single pothole on the road because of how succeptable they are to bending. Being in South Carolina it is way too easy to lose focus for a half second and catch the wrath of the sh*tty roads. Any aftermarket wheel that wouldn't bend quite as easy as the OEM's? Or does the fact that the RX8 has low profile tires just make it something you have to deal with?

Hey Mike:
I understand your concern but I would imagine most aftermarket wheels are going to be just as succeptable to bending. (yes, some are better made, but how do we know for sure???)
Buy a pair and just try your best to avoid those potholes.

Well the last one I hit was in the middle of the night, around a blind curve on a road that I have lived on since the day I was born. It was a brand new pothole and it was about 3 inches deep. Wasnt a whole lot I could do. I'd say I've hit 3 or 4 potholes in the 2 1/2 years I've owned the car. 2 of them have bent the rim and required a $150 repair. You can't always miss them. And as far as the NYC area, I can't say I've never been up there.

Thanks for the clarification on the wheels though, that was my question.
