it's not just the wheel sizing you need to worry about guys. ride height makes all the difference. 18x9.5 +38 on Tein S Techs is flush. same setup on coilovers slammed is tucked.
what is the look you're going for? poke? flush? hella flush?
with fender roll and a slight pull can fit wheels like 18x10 +5. don't forget tire sizes and camber too.

with Tein H techs, 18x9.5 +15 will stick out...won't really look good since the wheel gap is too big.
do you plan on going lower with the ride height??
*edit*
well since you have a deal on wheels, i say buy the wheels and run 225/40. then buy yourself a coilover kit ASAP.

questions.... would a few pounds heavier than stock wheels have any significant loss in performance. Would i even notice it when driving ?? I was at a meet today and one of the guys was like "Man these wheels are heavy and youre going to feel it when you get them". It got me thinking.

Well heavier weight doesn't ever help performance so.....Don't forget to factor in wider tires as being heavier too. Main thing I've noticed with heavier wheel setups (not the 8 though) was how much rougher it made the ride. They were like 10lbs heavier than stock wheels in that situation though.

Contact patch, driver skill, and tire compound will play a greater role than a 2lb difference in rotational mass. Personally, I think a 2lb difference will be negligible.
If weight is a concern, though, one should also check out the weight if tires for the overall difference as well.

Running a 18x10 rim with 265s I am less then two pounds more then stock rim and tire set up. If I remember correctly my stock rim and tire set up weighed in at just a hair over 51lbs. It did have fairly cheap tires with a good 85% of tread leftover from the prior owner.
The added contact patch and sticky tires also changes the feel drastically and would distract from me from being able to tell the difference in wight unless it was drastic. I would bet this would also be true of most people changing out there rims and tires.

Hi guys, im a long time viewer and first time poster. just ordered new wheels for my 8, specs are 18x10 +35 and im dropped about 2-3" on coilovers. I wont get them for about a week but im hoping anyone with the same specs can post pics of theirs so I can see what the firment will look like. cheers
