lol your tires aren't too wide.. i was running 265/35 on my 18x10.5+15 all around no rear rubbing issues. you will need a butt load of camber though. CLOSE to -6, but not quite that much. BUT downsizing tire will make your life a lot easier but you don't have to if you don't want to :D cause it'll work

I'm almost positive you just repeated what I said.

It would probably stop rubbing if you go lower.

Well I am on coilovers so that's down and I will be sailing in some negative camber...
Also getting the fenders pulled a bit on Tuesday so well see. If all else fails I'll get some 245/40s

WELL I think 6 would be excessive. Around 4 could probably be a bit more reasonable for 18x9.5's +I forgot what offset :p

Derek is absolutely correct. If you're on coilovers there is no reason you shouldn't be lower. And Dlum, there was a difference, your 265's were stretched werent they? His are squared so it makes it that much more difficult to fit. It will be over 5 degrees, guaranteed. I ran 275/35/19 on 19x10's last year and had to run -6 in the rear to not rub. That was AFTER rolling, pulling, and shaving too.

The stock control arms are adjustable. If those are maxed out too that means you're not low enough. I doubt they are though. I suggest investing in megan racing adjustable rear control arms. Thats what I bought when I realized my tires were too wide.
and what coilovers are you on?

You don't need -6 camber for that. I'm only 3mm less aggressive and at -2.5 camber and I need to get some taken out.

Does anybody know what structural integrity the metal flange behind the fender liner has?(right behind the liner where the wheel is rubbing in the pictures.)

I'm running 245 45 18s on a +25 offset rim and I'm shredding my tire, Stock suspension for 30 more days then it's getting some coilovers.

Stopped driving it until I find a solution, perhaps bending it nearly flat or taking a grinder to it?

Not my tires/wheels or RX8 in these pictures, just the same issue I am having.

lies lol. la roads are not bad at all, sf roads are of its the damn elevations that kill you every intersection is like a fucked driveway.

by far i consider fontana ca to have some of the worst roads in cali. it is the semi truck capital of the nation so the streets have a shitload of random sink holes.

Lol. The gap between the tire and fender is about half inch. Im gonna lower the front a little more. Then run spacers and have a alignment done. And that should keep me happy. Then front bumper and side skirts hopefully that should give it a lower effect. Then new wheels and hopefully powertrix make more coilovers to sell in the rx8 market.
