It will probably even worse than the rx8 was to the Fd.

Nah I doubt it I think this will be what it should be,
the
rx8 was a major screw up in more ways than one I'm sure they have learned from this.

The RX-8 is a great car, the only real issue was the engine. The other issues are minor. The series II RX-8 is a great car, and 99% of the faults were addressed. They just did it too late. And the RX-8 is better than the FD IMO, and FD's had the reman issues as well and were not much faster stock to stock (talking U.S. here). Most who claim the FD is so much better either never owned one, or spent a lot of time in one, or those who did are speaking strictly about power and power potential. But as an all around car, the RX-8 is much better.

well said
unless you're going in a straight line
and if it's too long of a distance the FD will probably pop an engine anyway

The fd, yet being harder to drive at its limit it is undoubtedly a better performance vehicle in every aspect.

The only thing the rx8 is better at is comfort. Performance wise it is simply a confidence builder because it is much more forgiving when being pushed hard. Thats probably why a bunch of nerds think its a better car.

EDIT.

In polite terms Slvrstreak, your knowledge about either of these platforms is clearly lacking in every aspect.

A properly built RX-8 will perform just as well as a properly built FD. But many factors play into that scenario. From a street stand point the RX-8 is better from general stand point IMO. They are easier to work on, cheaper parts, more comfortable, etc.

I love FD's, always have, always will. But the idea that they are a monster of some sort out of the box is just not true, it barely made more HP stock than a stock NA RX-8 and you need to spend quite a bit to get them rightous. Way more power potential for sure, but a lot harder to deal with on a daily basis. But as a modified weekend car or track car I can definitely agree an FD would be more satisfying for most.

Honestly I daily drive both of mine. When it comes to working on them I would much rather crawl into the engine bay of the fd than the rx8. Everything is much more accessible. Both cars are single turbo.
This is so far off topic.

To add to this debate and put it back on topic of Aggressive wheels fitment or whatever.
Factory the rx8 harnesses are ran in the engine bay above the shock towers A++++++.
Compared to the fd where they are ran under and get rubbed on and stuff until you relocate them :[

Well yeah working on a low mount turbo on an RX-8 blows. But working on an FD with stock twins and a rats nest blows even more. But to me this is like comparing Kate Upton to Tracy Spiridakos, Both are fine as hell.

I still had to relocate the harnesses on the 8.

you obviously haven't driven very many FDs on track or for that matter RX-8s either...
stock vs. stock there is no comparison in terms of "performance"
