im starting to look for a track wheel, have my eye on a 18x9.5 30 offset (front and rear) and running a 255 wide sticky/track duty tire. I currently have my rear fenders trimed but will i need a roll or a pull? these wheels will be for pretty agressive hot lapping track days

^Go with a 18.9.5 +45...Like the RPF1. It will be much better on the suspension.

hmm..if i go with a higher offset like that then i should not have to worry about clearance with a track tire correct? ill keep a eye out for that spec/size area

Yeah you can run up to 285's on a 18x9.5 +45.

18x9.5 +30 w/ 255's will fit well with rolled rear fenders. I had 18x9.5 +27 w/ 275's which needed a little extra work to make them fit. You could even get 265's no problem.

How low are you going to be on this setup?

We can test fit my 18x9.5 +22 w/255/35 some time and just see how close/far off that would be. Higher offset would be much easier to fit wider tires, if that's what you're looking for.

Ross - You ran those 9.5 +27's? How come we never saw pics?

currently on apex-i N1 coilovers i i believe roughly lowered to about 1'9" - 2" (on my 19" ssr street wheels with 265/30/19 theres about 1 finger gap between the fender and tire)

I was telling you that a lower offset is not good for the suspension geometry.

My point was not that you could fit a wider tire on a higher offset...Even though that is true as well..

If your looking for a dedicated Track wheel, stop trying to get below a +35mm offset.

Long story short I had them for a week and in the process of moving out of CA they were stolen. (I have FedEx to blame for that; I know they took them)

Basically I couldnt fit them in the car so I had FedEx ship them but they were "stolen". I have a thread on here to keep eyes out for a set of nt03's with RA1's

That's too bad man, hope you got some compensation back from fedex.

I'd like to know what is the lowest offset you can go on a 17x10 with 275 tires without pulling the fenders, rolling OK. I love the flush look but I also like to be able to fit the most rubber possible, can I have the best of both worlds????????

Alright since everyone completely blew off my last question I'll try asking a different way...

Looking for flush, is it possible with a 18x9-9.5 with 30-35 mm offset on the rear or do I gotta bump down to the 20's? The height will be lower than stock but it's not going to be slammed or a tucked style. What's the most practical tire for this, 255 or 265? To have the front flush with the rear I presume offset should be, another 10mm more to compensate (no pun Kane)? So perhaps a 18x8.5-9 at 35-40? Also I prefer a deep lip and realize that rolling may be required depending on my drop.

Nao answa mAh questioon(s)!

flush at stock height is somewhat of an oxymoron

Whelp, the idea is to fit it before the drop, then adjust the camber accordingly and see if a roll is needed to get it by. Should of added that detail.

There I edited it

18*9.5 +28 or +30 with a 265/35 would be my choice.... I am +28 and I am almost perfectly flush. You will likely need to roll even with camber (plus rolling is cheaper than lots of new tires).
