Alternative to Axis Hiro!!!
ok i ordered a set of hiros from wheelstudio.com
but they were back ordered, and they told me about another whel made by "JAZ Wheels" called the Hero. its EXACTLY like the hiro only two things:
-it doesnt have "axis" on one of the spokes (derrrr)
-it comes in a BLACK, not gunmetal, with a polished lip.
i personally wanted the black anyway so it worked out great.... so to recap
-same sizes, weight, bolt pattern as the hiro
-also about $15 less per wheel
-and the bitches come in black! yes!

have at it people.

I'd wait for what you originally ordered.
Did they say how long it would be to get the Hiros in?

They will always be fakes. Get the real thing......always. It's like Playbay having Pamela Sanderson, or Booger King have a Wooper, or maybe Mazdo putting out the new SX-9.
Not that Pamela Anderson isn't fake anywhere.....waaaawaaaawaaaa.
Point being: do it right the first time or you'll find yourself wanting.
I have Axis Hiro's and love them.

it's one thing to buy a Volk or HRE knock off, but Axis wheels aren't exactly top of the line to begin with. There's probably little difference in weight or strength since they're both cast wheels anyway.

^^^---- i agree since axis wheels are pretty weak to begin with (and heavy), im not sure how much worse a knockoff could be.
But Epitrochid, not all cast wheels are created equally. I can assure there is a huge difference between Enkei and Rays Cast wheels versus say the $400 for a full set you see on ebay. The difference isn't in just the name... both of those companies as several others have very high standards for there wheels. In my original Rayswheels thread there is a link to a video on how they create their wheels... AMAZING!!!

yes, casting technology has come a long way. however I don't think axis uses any techniques worth mentioning. you don't really see their wheels used much in racing applications.
although, they do make nice looking, fairly light wheel, for the money.
