Another member with the best looking wheels for our cars...
So I finally picked myself up a set of RPF1's. I've wanted these since I first saw them on a titanium grey and thanks to Slalom29 I now have them. They are the typical 18x9.5 +45 set up with Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Position 255/40/18 tires.
At first they rubbed real bad on the rear drivers side. I had to raise the back end up about a half inch and it seemed to do the trick.
I must say these are light-years better than stock. I'm not sure if the tires I had were stock (Dunlop SP Sport 8090) but they sure sucked. I never really felt completely comfortable driving fast in the rain with the stockies but I just got back from my first test drive in these and it was pouring! The car felt so planted and if I ever lost traction it was completely predictable and way more natural feeling. I have Tein Basics which are rather bone shaking at times but this wheel/tires combo completely settled them down. It's way more comfortable and the ride is a lot, and I mean, A LOT smoother.
Here are some pics. Thanks again Slalom29, great wheels/tires and great transaction.
Before. Not necessary but I like this pic.
After
I'll put up some more pics and have a little more feedback tommorrow. The weather is supposed to shape up so hopefully I can get a good drive in and some good pics.

I have these, from goodwin. I got the SBC finish, and I'm not big on the shiny stuff, but they're alright because it's a really dark shine, like gunmetal. And I find the regular silver color kinda like the beige that all computers used to be. it's just too common. Anyways, I have 275's on mine and suprisingly with my coilovers, they don't rub at all. My car is lowered but not so low that i cant stuff two fingers between the tire and the rim. They look pretty decent, but I bought them for 'best bang for the buck'.

love these wheels.. ok, they don't look as good as work or volk wheels but i'll bet they're at least every bit as light while costing at least $100 less per wheel.. not to threadjack but grouch, could you please post pics of yours with the sbc finish.. i want to get them but i want to see them on a rx-8 first..

imagine a full turbo kit with everything you need, including guages, that was good for 350whp and cost only 2 grand. there'd be a lot more turbo 8s.

OK maybe not the BEST looking I agree. But for being lightweight, easy to find 9.5'' that fits, and cheap you cant go wrong. The Volks, Advans, Wed Sport etc look great and serve a purpose but it comes at a price... some at a rediculous price. But these are good all around so I'm happy.
midlifer - yes my car is lowered with Tein Basic coilovers. I can't remember but i think it's a 1.5'' max drop in the rear and i'd say i'm at 1'' now but i'm not really sure. I still rub a little but only in extreme situations. Is it wierd that i only rub on the rear drivers side? The back right didn't rub at all with the car dropped to the max. I'm thinking I may need to roll the ole fenders.

Lookin real good. And forget all those who says the RPF1 aren't that great performance-wise (for the looks, we can't judge, everybody have their own taste).
RPF1, 18X9.5: 18.6 lbs.
And the acclaimed Volk TE37 (one of my fav with the RPF1 BTW): 18.10 lbs.
Did I mention the Volk cost twice as much?
Great choice dude, and they look terrific on your car!

I liked the way they looked in the rpf1 thread, but those cars just look better than mine. I didn't get the centercaps so you can see a rusty hole. I like them because they're light, strong and race-proven. I'll see if I can get some pics soon and will post them or just send them to you.
