Anyone Replaced their brake pads?
#26
Power!!
I need to replace My front pads as there is a high pitched squeel when the brakes are first applied.
Question: Can anyone advise me on the best make? ie EBC, Hawk, Centric...ect? I'd also like to go with drilled and slotted rotor eventually so I'll appreciate any advise on them too!
Thanks,
ice

Pretty steep...$400 + tax if you buy them as a F-R set.
I know, I know, but I loved the CC-R's...I want something like those that I can still use on the street.
Anyone wanna buy a set of used CC-R's for a 2004+ STi? Only used for one track day at Willow Springs

The stock rotors are plenty powerful enough with good pads. If you really want to improve your braking performance get wider tires.
A good test: if you set off your ABS under hard braking on flat dry pavement you need more tire not more brakes.

Porsche uses them because the " high performance" drivers that buy there cars think they are better. Same with Ferrari and a few others that come to mind. They don't do it cause they work better....only because they are expected to have them. At best they are lighter.....
Ask any Porsche driver that tracks his car a lot how the OEM drilled rotors last.
I was lucky to get 15K miles out of the ones on my 911...and that was with no track days

Team, I asked about the CC-X's in other threads as well and no one seeems to have tried them...I got tired of waiting, I have a deadline.
Clueless the script, sounds more like: angry, has nothing positive to contribute.

Not trying to defend myself...I know $400 is a bit much, but at least recommend something cheaper that's as good.

I was thinking of trying them out after my HP+'s go...
Then I'll give my review from a track event...
