Question Anyone running 20" wheels?

I did a search but couldn't find an exact answer.

Anyone running 20's? Tirerack says 245/30/20 tires will fit.. would the ride be too harsh?

I had bought my rx8 with 20's. The ride was very harsh not only that but it is a noisy ride when i would hit pot hole or I came accross poor road conditions. I recently put aftermarket 18's on it and the ride is noticably quieter and smoother. Less wear and tear.

as has been mentioned, it's been done but the general consensus is that 20's don't look good on an RX-8.
the tire ends up being very low profile which looks odd on our cars, most 20's are very heavy, and the styles are usually themed for VIP look.

there are plenty of great looking 18 and 19 inch wheels but if 20's are what you want, it can be done and at the end of the day it's all about what YOU think looks good on your car so mod as you see fit.

I'm rockin 20 and dont mind them. I love the look of the wheels and tires I got them new/used when bought the car. I dont notice road noise or roughness. down side is weight almost 75 lbs per shoe. For winter I have 18 s and find them about the same.

Found pics of the VR 8 w/GTCs. I'd still go with 18" or 19" but this car pulls it off.

Front: 20x8.5 +39 offset. 245/35/20
Rear: 20x9.5 +47 offset face II 275/30/20

I like 19 over 20, many more rim choices also.

I looked into doing 20s f0or my car and then 19's and now im down to 18s.. Just remember its your car at the end of the day and your the one that has to walk up to it and say, ya this is my car. personally why I am choosing to go with 18s is because I can get lighter than stock for accleration and handling and overall better drive dynamics. also there is the most variety in an 18. 19s are rare, hard to get tires for and expensive. 20s, are big and heavy and I can see them being prone to dents and bending very easily. Personally I vote staying away from 20s and going to a 18 or 19 at the most.!! Good luck!

I had 20's on my car before they were lowenhearts 20x8.5 fronts 20x10 rear. don't get me wrong they use to make the car look nice as hella
Cons--
- makes the car feel slower
- not able to take fast turns
- light flywheel seems a waste to have. These are just my thoughts.

I went to 19's but only u can make your own decision with your ride do u want show and no go show and go. Even if u decide 20s make sure they fit properly.
