I assume it's a wax. If they're trying to imply it's some sort of statically charged repellent, won't have any significant effect.

I tried this. Pretty good.

It is a foam type spray. So clean your car - I don't use their cleaning spray. I think they are useless.

I spray this stuff over the clean rim and let it dry, wipe off the excess the next day. I think it is liquid wax since it feels smoother to touch.

I went for a track day, and get A LOT of brake dust over it - but I only have a slight wipe with my sponge and shampoo. They come off extremely easily - no rubbing required. Clean 4 tires in a single wipe and hose them.

I don't know how long it will last though. I get slightly better result in my usual rim, but I am thinking it will wash away rather quicker than I think.

It is selling AUD$29.95 here. How much it is over there?

I have used a product from rain-x called wheel protectant. It has worked great on my rims, I would recommend this product. Quoting from the rear of spray bottle "a brake dust barrier, forms a prtective shield on your wheels, providing a barrier against brake dust, grease, oil road grime and all other elements such as rain, sleet, salt and slush". Price was $6.49 for bottle, well worth it.

Thumbs up Prestone wheel cleaner and Brake Dust Repellent

I looked at every automotive store in my area within a 15 mile radius one day for the Michelin stuff.

I finally found Prestone Wheel Cleaner and Brake Dust Repellent at Pep Boys. It comes in a blue spray bottle.

I have used it for two months now. It does way better than waxing. After it has been treated a person can wipe the brake dust off with a dry cloth and one swipe.
