Brake pads - suggestion
I must soon change my brake pads on my stock brake rotors and thinking wich would be better?
Any suggestions?
Are the HAWK HP better then the OEM Mazda pads or should I just stick with the OEM or maybe is there some other model wich is better?

I don't buy Kool-Aid
I would go with MS pads only cus I have used them before and love them. I have used Hawk HP+2 pads and dont like them at all. Tons of dust and sqqqeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeking and it was not even raining

^ HP Plus on the street are overkill. They will dust and make noise. They do provide decent fade free performance at the track (for novice and intermediate levels of driving) and would be the minimum pad I would use for track time.
A quieter, less dusty alternative to the HP Plus is the Porterfield R4S.

hawk ceramic are awesome. no noise at all. almost no dust. It takes about a week of driving before I can see the light gray dust on the rims, but takes 2 weeks before it's really noticeable.

you will be very happy
the other Hawk pads dust and squeal badly, I use Hawk Black for serious autox competition and they live up to their name; my wheels are black in only 3 runs, they kick @ss for the duty tho ...

Not as good. See with Ceramic your not going to retain heat in the pad so you will (believe it or not) kill the pad before the Rotor (Some guy tryed to tell me they last longer cus they dont retain heat lol). With the OEM set up your going to run them both down. With Hawk HP+ your going to kill your OEM Rotors lol Put it this way it takes about 10 min of hard driving in the 100 heat to get the Hawks just right 
After that your good. No more sqeeeeeeeeeeek just dust lol.

Although first introduced as far back as 1985 on some new vehicles, mass after-market applications for ceramic-based disc brake pads are just now becoming widely available. Approximately 33 percent of all new vehicles, domestic and foreign combined, now have ceramic-based disc brake pads. The newest generation of ceramic brake lining compounds contain no chopped steel fibers or steel wool as found in earlier semi-metallic linings, but instead substitute ceramic compounds and copper fibers. These changes provide modern ceramic-based lining materials the capability of handling today's high brake temperatures with less heat fade, faster recovery time, and less wear on both the pads and rotors.
Additionally, you may hear (or see, if online) complaints about poor stopping power with cold brakes. This is typically true about older ceramic pads and ceramic pads designed for racing, but today's consumer grade ceramic pads have great stopping power.

the dust and occasional squelaing doesn't bother me. i love the HP+ and HPS pads. i've been using them on my cars for about 5 years now and i just did my brakes on the 8, and guess what ... they're on the 8 now, too.

Do Hawk ceramics have good inital bite though before having to get warmed up? Ive heard that Hawk ceramics dont work that well until properly heated... am i wrong? i mean i do want a good high performance pad even though im probably not going to be doing autocross... so Hawk ceramics or Hawk HPS?
