TX brake or suspension, help plz :)

Well I did some searching on "clicking noise while braking" but all I could find was constant "clicking noise" but my problem is a "single" real loud click noise that sounds "metally" if that makes any sense while breaking to a stop.

at first I thought it could be wheel bearing or cv joint or axle but on constant "clicking" noise in one of the threads I saw

"..... The problem was rust build up on the axle, and the bolts went bad as well. They took all the rust off and re greased it to keep the rust from coming back. I asked if this was a common problem, and they replied that this is actually very strange and dose not really happen."

and his car was making constant clicking noise while driving.
mine is one single loud click noise near stop when you brake little hard your car kinda "leans forward"(sorry this is best description with my poor english lol) thats when it makes the CLICK sound.

I went to make sure it wasn't my brakes or anything to brake stop and they keep on telling me that it's U-Joint or Steering Joint. and they also mentioned that my struts are bad and would need replacement.

on top of the "click" problem I had a question about struts
is tein s tech lowering springs + tokico hp struts/shocks set any good for rx8? I saw it on ebay for 600 but i didn't know if they were any good(for street use only I never get on track

jack up the front end, pull back and forth on the suspect wheel. If it is clicking, that is your wheel bearing.

pull up and down, if it makes noise and moves easily, it is your shock

Any vibrations in the wheel when driving? possibly a mismounted wheel, check your wheel hub and ensure that it is meeting with the wheel perfectly flat, always tighten nuts at a star pattern.

you already ruled out the cv joint and i would have to agree in this case as that usually makes noise during forward motion.

and yes that combo is fine.

thanks for the reply! there isn't much vibration in the wheel when driving. At least I don't think there is... I don't really have problem driving around etc but it just bothers me that my ride is making "grunking" sound while driving (you can't hear it through videos...) and it goes away when I brake. which is why some mechanic told me it should be my shock/struts.

here's a video of me driving to a gas station today to get some gas

Here is what I would do first...

1. make sure all your lug nuts are tight. If they are loose, they will cause the wheel/rotor to chatter.
2. make sure your sway bar and end-links are tight..
3. If both are secure, then you know that your problem is somewhere else...

second...

1. as previously mentioned, check if your shocks are worn out, then one will move more freely than the rest.. you know you have a problem..
2. check your brake pads. if there is no pad left, they will be metal on metal

third...

1. keep searching
2. keep troubleshooting

GL

ps. where in tx are you? There are a lot of good rx8 communities in most major tx cities with plenty of members to help you out. (btw, i am in dallas; so if your close im more than happy to help)

1. I don't think it'd would be the lug nuts because I had wheel rotation done not too long ago by discount tires
2. sway bar and end links hmm I'll check on that

1. I just didn't think shocks being worn out would make cling cling sound when I kick it. for the longest time i thought it was one of the brake parts so I got new rotor, brake pads, even got a new caliper bracket. I'm trying to get the "pin" thing that connects caliper and bracket together the one you have to take out to replace the brake pad from autozone.
2. brake pads are fairly new replaced last august so I didn't think they would wear out in 6 months since I never get on track and such.

I've been searchin and searchin but seems like while trying to figure out one problem another pops up :P I think my clutch might be gone soon too it squeaks and there's a weird noise when clutch is depressed which goes away if i have my i press the clutch.

And I was at the dealership for check engine light they're saying there's an air leak and just to FIND the air leak they said they're gonna need like 3 hour or so which would be 300 in labor and then they want to go from there lol

I do have a new engine less than 20k miles old, new sparkplugs, wires, coils that are less than 3 months old new rear O2 sensor. I cleaned MAF sensor and tried other stuff but I think I'm gonna have to go in to get this fixed sooner or later.

oh and I'm in College Station, currently senior at A&M so pretty far from Dallas! but thank you for your input and offer to help :D

***UPDATE!!!!
Well I jacked up the front wheels to try to move them back and forth, up and

down. the wheel was super tight and I tried moving it harder and harder but was afraid that

my jacks were gonna fall over because I was shaking my car so hard lol

So does that mean my wheel bearing/struts are still okay?

but I did notice that those rubbery things around my struts (I think they're called bushings?)

were worn out and had few cuts on them so I'm guessing I'd need to replace them?

Question 1)

are they hard to replace? or can it be a DIY job?

Question 2)

Where do I buy them? lol

Question 3)

will the bushings make my wheels have those cranking noises when I kick them like on the

video I posted? I'm lost here because I thought it was wheel bearings or struts but they

didn't even seem to budge when I try to move them...
