Brake Upgrade Done

Just got slotted/drilled rotors, hawk hps pads, and stainless steel brake lines installed. I definitely like the improved feel under heavy braking that it provides. This is my first time posting pics here and I've attached 3 pics in the additional options but when I preview the post I don't see them so I'm hoping this works...

Unfortunately no I couldn't. Mainly because I am not experienced at all when it comes to cars other than changing the oil so I had it done. I ended up going to 2 different places around town because having the entire job done at one place was going to cost about 350-400 in labor so after some diligent price checking around town I ended up getting it all done for about 225. I know I know, I could've done it myself rather than blow the money and I would've liked the experience but I just couldn't justify the risk with my little knowledge on it. I had a goodyear shop do the rotors and pads for 100 and then went to another shop I'll have to find the name of and had brakelines done for 125. I posted a thread in the Gulf forum to see if anyone around me wanted to help me out, I offered beer and food but had no takers so maybe another time...my next purchase will be the revi intake with the duct and the duct installation from what I hear requires removal of the front bumper so I'm going to need help there too....we'll see how that goes.

Removing the bumper is extremely easy and Racing Beat has good instructions. You shouldn't run into any problems.

Sometimes, even if you're inexperienced, caring that the job is done right will get you better results than if you took it to a shop.

They don't look backwards, compared to chism's pic.

Does drilling really help that much in braking performance? I thought it was really just for use when there is heavy breaking and the rotors can cool much faster. Slotting sounds like a good idea though..

But it does look good.

Remember that you can't always judge proper direction by looking at the slots. you need to look at the direction of the vanes inside of the rotor. that is the best way to determine if it is right or not.

Peace, rishie
