Brand New Volks

alright i need some advice

I'm ordering the new 19" Volk GT-V's. Unfortunately I cannot get pictures of them because the first shipment comes to north america in mid january... (although some people may have seen pics in the new Volk catalogue at a local shop). Anyways I wanted to get everyones opinion on which finish i should get. I have a brilliant black rx-8 and my 2 choices are Titanium Gunmetal or, their new finish, Magnesium Silver.

As I said i can't get any pics now but as son as i do i will post.

As a side question, how badly does staggering wheel sizes... say 9" front and 10" rear hurt performance, cuz i have heard different things... if anyone has done it let me know if the drop in performance is worth the look?

Staggering shouldn't hurt performance, other than a bit more drag and weight from the larger tires. It will affect balance, but you won't be giving up ultimate grip, unless you go with a front tire that is smaller than OEM, or you go with substantially lower performance tires all around. In other words, your car may handle differently, but it shouldn't be slower. In fact, if you pick the right tires the ultimate grip may actually be higher.

As for tuning out the understeer, there have already been threads on that, I do believe. Cortc has a few things to say, I'm sure.

I haven't seen the wheels but I had a set of gunmetal Motegi M-7s on my black on black w/ tinted windows Acura CL TypeS and it was a real head turner. I wish I got as many drooling comments on my RX8 as I did that car!!

GT-V are part of the brand new Volk catalogue, and first shipment to North America is in january, they are pretty expensive but worth every penny in my opinion. BUt what do you think would look better on a black rx-8, gun-metal or mercury silver?

I would either special order them in black, or have them painted.

A completely black wheel makes your car look like it is missing hubcaps.

Most good looking black wheels have polished or chrome center pieces and/or outer rim halves.
