Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Versus Kumho Ecsta SPT Versus Stock Tires
Hi guys,
Need some help.
Trying to decide whether to replace my stock tires with something new. And if so what to replace them with.
Here's what I need.
Would like the tire to be as quiet and comfortable as possible. And also be very good in the rain (just worried about hydroplaning etc). handling and feel is still important but I dont want a tire that is making huge amounts of noise.
MY stock Bridgestones have not worn out at all but I've read consistently on the forums that they are terrible.
Looking to choose between the S-03 and the Kumho Ecsta SPT (Since they are in the same price range).
Any ideas on which one I should go for? Pros or cons between the three?
Thanks!

S-03 is a Max Performance tire with a 220 treadwear.
SPT is a Ultra High Performance tire with a 320 treadwear.
Performancewise, S-03 > SPT
Both will do well in the rain.
The S-03's sidewall isn't all too stiff given its high grip levels, so it's still comfortable to live with.

I tried S-03 Pole Position b4. its really good in Dry, Above average in Rain. Deadly in Snow or under 50 degrees of weather.
They're doing a closeout sale on tirerack, you might want to check it out.

Yeah that is precisely why i'm trying to decide between the two.
IF I go with the S-03's i'll order them from tirerack right now. If i'm going with the Kumho's then I'll just wait until the summer as right now I have winters on my RX-8.
Treadware wise, am I looking at a huge difference between the Kumho's and the S-03?

S03's are amazing tires. I love em. The tread wear might be a little low tho, but for the price it cant be beaten. After 10K+ miles, 2 track days, a dozen auto crosses, a lot of drifting, the S03's have withstood it pretty well. I rears are shot, but fronts are fine. Great tires, I would defiantly recommend it.

Thanks guys,
I ended up picking up a set of S-03s. Dont need them until the summer but I figure that I'll regret not purchasing them and paying an extra 400 bucks for a different set of tires.
