Brief review of Falken Ziex ZE-912 tires
I just got new Falken Ziex ZE-912 tires a couple of weeks ago and I wasn't sure how I felt about them at first, but I wanted to toss a brief review out there now that I've had them for a couple of weeks. I ordered the tires from Discount Tire Direct and they were shipped to my local Mr. Tire, and installed the day after they arrived. My biggest complaints with the OEM tires I had before was significant body roll and on especially sharp turns the back tire would buckle under.
I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting but my initial feeling with the new tires wasn't too favorable. They felt somewhat stiffer than the OEM tires, and grip seemed a bit better, but I still felt a fair amount of tire roll, and they just didn't seem like a noticable upgrade at first. However, I've been driving to and from work for a week or two with them on and they have seemed to settle down a lot somehow. I went for a very challenging street drive today with dozens of hairpin backroad turns, sheer hills, and uneven road surface. The tires completely came into their own, and I was absolutely satisfied with them after the ride today. The grip was amazing, holding the car perfectly on the road as I absolutely flew through the turns. The tire roll was 100% gone and I felt rock steady and confident. The performance difference over the OEM tires was night and day.
I know it's just anecdotal but if you are looking for new tires, I am very happy with the Falken's.

I know they are all-season. Because I live in Maryland my time spent dodging snow/hail/sleet etc is relatively minimal, making it not worthwhile to get designated snow tires, but enough that I don't mind having all-seasons when weather turns against me.
Does nobody else use all-seasons or something?

You were rolling onto the sidewalls with the OEM's? How is that even possible? I autocrossed on high-traction concrete with my OE Potenzas and had no sidewall rolling even going as low as 32PSI.
I've use all-seasons on a set of 17" rims as my DD tires since I mounted R-comps on my OE 18's.

Falken Ziex are garbage all season tires that last a long time. I have had them on my integra GSR, s2000, and my parents have it on their mazda3 S. If you have ever driven on any ultra high performance summer tires, then you'd know what everybody is talking about. I still think they are good daily driver tires. They are extremely cheap and relatively comfortable and quiet.
I had them on my S2000 because I was running -3.5 camber daily driven and these were cheap to replace. I would not track on these tires. In fact, I totaled it going over the limit of them. They get really greasy when hot.

Perhaps I should have clarified in my post that at no point was I talking about track tires. I know the Falken's are all-season and they aren't track tires. However if I am going to have two sets of tires I wouldn't have a summer street/track tire and a winter tire because of were I live. I would rather have a summer/winter street tire and a track tire specifically and only for the track. The Falken's are doing quite nicely as the all around street tire. I will probably go with Toyo's for a track tire, but I'm not currently tracking it so I'm not in a huge rush.

I just got some ZE-912s . Third set I've had on the 2005 RX8 I drive. I like them much better than the yokohama YK520s I had , but neither perform as well as the OEM bridgestones.
I just decided I wanted longer lasting tires for less money.
I hated the YK520s. These Falkens are really pretty good - for an 'all season' tire.
they really handle the wet weather in florida today very well.

A shining example of why you shouldn't cheap out especially when its your life that's at stake. Or someone else's.

I had them on my NA Mazda 3. They're long lasting THREE season tires. I live in San Francisco so we don't really get 4 distinct seasons, just one long endless fall season. So these were fine and actually drove quite well for an all-season tire...
Then I took them to Lake Tahoe for a snowboarding/cabin trip...
Then they turned into hocket pucks in the cold...
Then there was some snow/ice on the road, then I put on some chains...
Then I did a 360...
Then I got rid of them...
