Caliper Rebuild Kit

I am taking my calipers to get powdercoated and the guy who does it completely takes the caliper apart before powdercoating. Is there a rebuild kit available from one of our venders so I can put them back together with new seals?

Any information about the kit. I'm looking to do the same thing to my brakes this summer.

Is it something that is practical to do at home with normal tools. I don't want to have my calipers disassembled and then get stuck. I have a good amount of mechanical skill. I have done the brake lines, rotors, and pads already.

If you can get the calipers off you should be able to do the rebuild. There really aren't any tools needed...just a lot of patience installing the seals....

Hi - I know this is an old thread, and I appreciate the input that it's not too hard to do the rebuild, and the kit is pretty cheap.

For anyone who's done this, are theyere any concerns that the layer of powdercoating itself will cause a problem (such as the piston no longer fitting in? or similar problems?)

Appreciate the advice, nothing better than hearing it from someone who's done it before...

As long as they don't get any powdercoating on the piston bores or on the slider pins or channels then you will be OK. Also you don't want the slots where the pads slide to get coated either

Like I said..the seals are a bit of a PIA..but go carefully and they will go together fairly easily

There are DIY's on this site for both the front and the rear. I did the piston seals and the boots. I did not do the inner workings of the rear parking brake. Too many little parts. I found my kits on line for a few bucks each. There was only one manufacturer, I just do not remember the name.
