I had these for about 6 months already and i havent had the time to get them powdercoated. so i've been rolling with my CE28 volks which i've decided to give to my boyfriend for his evo 8. By the way i've had the CE28's for about two years, so ive been in the volk game for a long time and here's a 5 month old pic with the two types of rims for a staggered look..with slicks in the rear so my boyfriend could teach me to how drift. so please dont say i copied anyone. Well thanks for the compliments. I hope it doesn't seem like i'm talking smack, because i'm a newbie. Anyway, much respect.

GrRx8MaZdA, are you doing a custom widebody? or r-magic?

some pics would be great if you're doing custom (or r-magic). i'm looking to go widebody and haven't really found any kit that i like yet.

No worries, didn't mean to say you copied, but there have been atleast 5-6 users on this forum that were attempting to copy me as well, got kinda sick of it. I received mine straight from the RAYS manufacturing plant in Japan on April 2006 and prior to that it took about 6 months to get here. It took so long because of the special color and offsets I ordered it in (diamond black). Much respect as well..

I have a few questions for all you Ray's owners:

1. I have VR GT-C (18x8, Face I with a +36 offset in front. The rears are 18x9, Face II with a +37 offset). The guy I took it to get them installed said I needed a longer thread to get the wheels put on the car. Was this a problem with anyone else? Or was the original thread enough to have them on.

(by thread, I mean the part where the lugnuts screw onto. The guy I took it to said the stock ones were too short and they needed to be longer for my rims)

2. Is anyone having problems with their Volk Racing stickers on the wheels? I noticed the other day after washing my car that a corner had come up on on of the stickers. Like it was peeling off a little. Is there any place where I can get a replacement if it were to come completely off?

3. What can I do If i slightly dinged my rims. I have the chrome lip and i recently dinged my left front rim a little bit. Nothing major, but it's an eyesore for me, since I know it's there. Is there any way I can smooth it out?

1. you shouldn't have any problems with those offsets. i have SF-Challenge and didn't need any kind of modification.

2. i'd give mackin industries or any volk dealer a call to get some more decals. don't think about putting vinyl stickers on the wheels, they'll shrivel up when the wheel heats up from the brakes.

3. most rim repair shops (reputable ones) should be able to fill/sand/etc. a curbed rim. the only thing about repairing polished lip wheels is that it won't match the factory finish. so your one wheel won't look the same as the other 3.

Thnx for the info danomite. It was probably the mechanic trying to get some more money out of the deal

Maybe while I'm at the wheel place I'll refinish all my wheels in a black chrome.

like this:

I have the gunmetal GT-C, so it'll look nice i think.

So, my CE28NFs will be: 18x8 +38 front and 18x8 +33 rear... anybody running these offsets? That was Volk USA's recommendation for the RX-8 and keeping the stock tires...

what the hell kind of setup is that? what good is that gonna do? 18x8 all around should just go with the same offset all around too. same size tires all around, might as well make it so that you can rotate and save tire wear.

just go with 18x8 +33 all around. forget what Volk USA said.
