Can G2 Caliper Paint Withstand Winter Weather?

So I purchased G2 caliper paint for my TI grey 8. There are a few warmer days coming up which are in the recommended temperature zone for painting.

I just wanted to know if the paint would be able to withstand winter weather (Mild salt, slush, etc.).

any one have any experience or suggestions? I have not opened the package yet or read the instructions but off-hand can you think of anything else I will need for painting it? I know it's not like painting a wooden fence so I'd imagine some kind of prep/degreaser/etc. is needed.

Just fishing for some suggestions. Thank you . Oh and I bought the blue for my TI grey =].

cheers.

I painted my calipers over the summer, be prepared to let them dry for I think its 18 hours.

I was changing my brakes, so taking the caliper off the rotor really helps your ability to paint them. I used brake cleaner and a wire brush to try and clean off the calipers before painting them, you should probably do the same.

Can't speak for how they do in winter weather, but so far so good!

I'm sure the caliper paint will be fine, just make sure you aren't painting when the weather doesn't permit the calipers to dry properly.

Just to be safe though I wouldn't take your 8 out too much in really bad winter weather. The salt they use to de-ice the roads are a nightmare to deal with regardless if your calipers are painted or not.

Although let me know how that goes, because I'm likely going to be moving to another area in the foreseeable future where I would have to worry about winter weather... and I do intend to paint my calipers

11 years in northeastern climate, parked outside. Still looks almost new (very glossy) when washed. Just a few chips. FWIW.

It had 2 coats.

Question:

When you go to paint the calipers, do you only paint the 2 outter most surfaces of the caliper? When I look at mine I see the metal portion behind the brake pad as well. Does any one paint that too?

Has any one also tried hitting the back of the caliper with the paint while it still being on the rotor with it just newspaper protected? I'm contemplating whether to just do the front or both back and front.

I recommend removing them before you paint them. Just my opinion. Don't want caliper paint all over the place, even if it is newspaper protected. just my two cents

Well I got lazy and just left the darn things on. I didnt want to risk messing anything up by taking them off seeing as a snow storm is coming tonight and I will need my car since my other beater does not have snow tires.

Anyways, I painted pretty much all of the calipers. I masked everywhere off and didnt get paint anywhere except a small dab on the metal shielding of the brake pad on one of the front ones. Not noticeable at all though. I'm very impressed by the paint though.

I'll take pictures soon and show you guys.

One question:
Per the instructions for the painting kit, I sprayed brake cleaner on my calipers, and then went to town with a wire brush. I saw periodic brown spots on my caliper when cleaning them. Would that just be rust that was covered in brake dust or something? Just thought that it was kinda weird.
