I'm a bit perplexed on what a strut bar and stabilizing bar actually do. Also has any one upgraded to the mazda speed versions and if so could you please tell me how they affected the cars ride and preformance. And on a last not can some one please tell me if they could recomend any othere brands or types of brands. Thanks for all your help.

2) The stabilizing bar (or the anti-roll bar) is a bar that connects the suspension from both sides of the car. The stifer the roll bar, the less the car will roll (lean) on cornering. This does affect the overhall ride stiffness of the car also.
For everyday driving, these upgrades are not required for the RX-8, it is pretty good stock in both stiffness and body roll. For hard driving and track racing, these are required upgrades.
As far as other brands, I have never upgraded these components and cannot recommend anyone else that Mazdaspeed.
Hope this helps.
