I don't see an issue with painting factory calipers to give them a clean look. Is switching to clear corners also rice? To me, things like that are just cleaning up the car but keeping it OEM at the same time.

Now, if you write "Racing Brake" on your OEM caliper, that's just a whole other issue...

oh my gawd...

oh yeah, & painting calipers looks good when done well, adds a unique touch, while not 'falsely advertising' performance, like some plastic covers... whatever floats yer boat, though.

They prob look better than stock painted calipers, but I don't think that i'd spen 89$ on something without a upgrade in performance...

I'd like to see how they hold up to a few 100MPH+ stops where the rotors get almost red hot and the calipers start pushing 400 deg F.

"Dude! I drive so fast that I melted my calipers!"

Pretty much. I've seen them on many many crappy cars. They mount behind the wheel, the "cross drilled" holes are usually the size of a quarter and they look like complete ****. I have no idea why someone would buy them, but then, I have no idea why people do a lot of things they do.

Something like this, though, most of the ones I have seen are "cross drilled"

How new was the BMW? They all come with large discs front and rear for the last decade at least.

I think you may have seen "wheel shields"- these sheild the wheel from brake dust. BMW's are famous for really, really bad brake dust. Some people put plastic shields on the inside of the wheel to prevent the dust from getting out. This was actually so popular for a while that it is specifically listed in the manual as voiding your warranty, since it is clearly bad for brake performance.

Has anyone purchased these? If so how do they look and what type did you get?
