check tire pressure

OK I know this is probably a waste of space. but... we had 3 customers in 3 weeks that came in because there tire pressure light was on.(that was the only reason they came in) all 3 had low tire pressure. this customers wasted there time going to the dealer just because of the light. if the light comes on just take a minute and check your tire pressure. it will save you the time and headache of taking time off work just to take it to your dealer. I don't think the people were club members.

Too bad Mazda cheaped out on showing the pressures on a display in the car ....... would have saved you from dealing with trivial stuff like this.

Alright, I'm giving out a laugh at my expense...

The day I bought the car, the TPMS light was on and I thought it was the check engine light (first car with TPMS). I thought the light was supposed to look like a rotary engine. That night when I read the manual I felt like a dumbass. :D

My TPMS light kept acting up. When the tires were cold it was on, then it would go out after a few miles. I checked pressures. All was well except for a left rear that was a little low. Couple of weeks later, it happened again, but the pressures were virtually the same. After a few weeks, I realized that the left rear was low again. Hmm

Two months later and a just a couple of days ago, I walk to my parked car to discover a screw that was jammed into the edge of the tire. Problem solved. F@#k

Tires that are slightly low will heat up during driving, increasing pressure and thus the TPMS light will go off.

I find TPMS is a subtle reminder that I haven't checked the tyre pressures as often as I should. Nice feature especially when not carrying a spare wheel. And especially in this extremely cold weather in the Houston area!!!! Must remember to change out of my shorts and T shirt in the next month or so!

actually the service bulletin states that once the car reaches 16 mph the light should go out. Google rx-8 tire pressure and click the pdf file on the first page.

No worries, Hot to Cold equal less pressure within the wheel. Just do a burnout and the light will for sure go out!!!! hahahah

Cheers

it should only go out if the condition causing the light clears. i have aftermarket wheels with no sensors in them, and i'm pretty sure that light will never go out.

wow you guys really have some issues with people trying to help out. The service Bulletin no 02-004/04 was the only reference I had and it stated that "The TPMS system will turn the warning lamp off after the vehicle is driven over 25 KM/h (16 MPH)

So don't take it personally if the information is no longer current. And By the way MAZFUR your attiude blows I suggest you grow up. If you don't like the post I made then don't respond like a teenager would.

I am just trying to help.

Ummmmmmm..........excuse me, but I was referring to the three people that came into the dealer because their TPMS light was on and didn't know what it was.....the original post....not you!!! Where did I quote you or imply it was your post? You even notice that it was a reply to the original post? That's what that little tree showing the threads is for above. No worries though!

I'm not gonna rag on someone for trying to help, even if the info isn't correct or up-to-date..........only if it's been pointed out that they are wrong and continue to provide bad info and are stubborn about it. Okay?

So.......I added this little portion tonight(11/7/07) because I wanted to see if you even would acknowledge that the fact that you were wrong, so who's all grown up now? Hmmmm?
